Eat Food In Its Season | The Prophetic College
Archbishop E. Bernard Jordan talks about how eating food in season is beneficial to our health in the Prophetic College’s Prophetic Commons. He carefully discusses a serious health problem in the African American community that oftentimes is being neglected. He then mentions that African Americans are the only people in the world who eat the same kind of food all year round which is contradictory to eating according to season.
He also adds that eating seasonally can provide the necessary nourishment that the body needs according to the particular time of the year. In addition, it also keeps the disease of that season out of you. When we eat the right food, our body will absorb the right amount of nutrients it needs thus we also nourish our mind and soul. If the body is well-nourished, we will be able to have a clear vision of the future. Being in our best health will keep us more in sync with our natural and spiritual world. Archbishop says, “You gotta understand your calling is because ur calling reveals what your diet is.”
Upon the above topic, Archbishop E. Bernard Jordan also expresses his concern regarding the alarming record of 95% African Americans that have fatty liver. Fatty liver happens when an accumulation of extra fat occurs in the liver. Small amounts of fat in your liver is normal, but too much can become a serious health matter. He mentions how essential it is to take good care of the body to be able to fulfill our prophecy. If the body is weak and neglected, the body can expire before the word can get fulfilled because the body failed to generate the longevity that is required to do so. He shows his worry deliberately and his eagerness to help the people.
In the last part of the session, he mentioned the Prophet John the baptist’s special diet and shows his willingness to submit to fast at life.
