Is The Prophetic Ministry Your Gift?
The prophetic ministry can be a life purpose. Some prophets are naturally born as one or born into a family of prophets. Then, some received the GIFT of prophecy.
An ordinary person can have the power to see and speak visions or prophecies. According to the prophet Joel, God said, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”
You must receive Christ, and the gift of the Holy Spirit will follow. For you to use the gift of prophecy, you must receive it first from God. According to Peter, he said, “…and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then, you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
You must believe in Jesus and baptized in His name. He is the only way one can able to communicate with God. As you are living in the New Testament, high priests or prophets no longer serve as the mediator between God and man. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
You must follow Jesus. Belief does not guarantee commitment. You must show within your faith that you follow Jesus Christ. The apostle James said that faith without action is dead. It is why the disciples were able to preach the good news to the early church and even write the book of revelations, which is a book of prophecy.
The disciples were not natural born prophets. They were not raised as temple boys like the prophet Samuel. They were just ordinary people from all walks of life. But they believed and followed Jesus, and this enabled them to speak the word of God.
Be vulnerable to works of the Holy Spirit.
