Sinners Must Repent When They Receive The Call To Become A Prophet

In life, you will get “the call” of what you are destined to do on Earth. When you receive this calling, you must repent, be confident, be discerning, obey, brave, inspire, and continuously listen. 

 

Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 KJV

 

Some people were born and raised as a prophet. Then, some are called by God to become a prophet. As human beings, prophets are also sinners that were chosen by God to represent him and become living testimonies for Him. Before a sinner can accept this calling, they must repent.

 

One of the greatest preachers of the gospel is Apostle Paul. 

 

The Apostle Paul was born as Saul, a Pharisee. He was one of those who challenge and questions the legitimacy of Jesus. He was among the greatest persecutors of the early Christians. He was a murderer – a grave sinner. The bible said: 

 

“But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison.”

 

Saul had gone to the point when He asked the high priests to allow him to pursue and arrest every follower of Jesus that he can find. But God’s plan was different from what Saul wanted. On the day that Saul was about to bring more Christians to death, he had his first encounter with God. And the Lord said: 

 

“Go, for Saul, is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.”

 

As Saul was traveling towards Damascus, he was struck by a light from heaven which caused him to fall on the ground. It was when he first heard the audible voice of God. The bible said: 

 

“…and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?”

 

The encounter with God paved the way for Saul’s conversion to become the apostle Paul. He needed to repent. And, that is what Saul did by responding to the call of God with repentance. Saul accepted God’s plan of transforming him to become His messenger – an apostle of Christ. 

Not only did Paul listened to the word of God, but also applied them in his life. Instead of persecuting Christians, Paul became the one who preaches the word of God to the people. 

 

From being the murderer and persecutor of the Christians, Paul was changed and became the high priest of God.
